Hello!

Welcome to Adventures in Black and White. This page started originally as a blog page on Facebook back in 2017 to record the escapades of Oroness and Nickel I, sadly Nessie is no longer with us and Nickel retired in 2020 shortly after the creation of this website. He sadly passed away at the end of March 2021 after he had made sure that my next ride Stormy, was up to the job. That ended very sadly in 2023 with Stormy being put down due to complications from neck arthritis.

I was not going to get another horse as my heart was broken, My journey is not over though and this blog is here to keep up the spirit of our adventures. Rosie popped into my life and we are now just tipping along. Middle aged, amateur working a full time job and now with a young horse to guide through the levels. Who knows where it may lead.

On this site, there is my usual blog content as well as reviews and guides to help others on their equestrian journeys. I hope you enjoy reading/watching it as much as I am making it all happen.

I am always happy to hear from followers, I am happy to answer all questions, requests or comments. Please contact me via my social media channels or by emailing ria@adventuresinblackandwhite.co.uk

Reviews

Welcome to my reviews. In reviews I will cover all manner of equestrian items that I have personally bought and used. I am open to trialling products for companies, please contact me either through my social media pages or on ria@adventuresinblackandwhite.co.uk

All reviews represent my own personal opinion so please appreciate that what might work for me, might not for you and vice versa.

The Journals and Log Books

Early in 2021, I began to think about competing and training again as I had settled Stormy in to her new life. I was looking for the best way to note down our progress and plan the future. I am, however, the worst at keeping up with a diary, despite knowing the benefits of it. So I had a look at a few journals and diaries and decided to make my own. I have written about it in this blog.

Titles

These are all available from Amazon, I had for some time made them available from myself but this was proving just too expensive to maintain so Amazon is the best bet. Plus with Prime you will get prompt delivery.

I am always looking to improve the titles, available now is the Training and Competition Log Book, which is an all round log book to cover training and all sorts of competitions. So if you want to buy just one log book to cover a number of different disciplines, this is it!

To accompany my Confidence Planner that has just been launched I have the Confidence Log Book. (note the Confidence Planner will be available soon on Amazon)

Ex-Racer Competition Log Book

This log book has been designed purely for Ex-Racehorses as they hold a place in my heart. I ran a competition on Facebook and Instagram to appear on the cover. This log book has spaces for all different spheres of competition and a training log.

Other books

I have plans for more, including how-to guides etc in time. I have also created an Equestrian Wordsearch book – this was a monster to create I am unlikely to try again. It is a large puzzle book full of wordsearches so make a great gift for anyone that loves horses!

Please help support this venture if you can!
